Last September, we attended the 4th Rostock Machinery Conference, organised by our colleagues at FVTR in collaboration with Fraunhofer IGP and MET Motoren- und Energietechnik GmbH. During the event, our colleagues from DTU and TERGY SAGAVA gained valuable insights into next generation of sustainable shipping technologies. Now, we are looking forward to return to Rostock in April for a new event!
The 1st ROSTOCK SYMPOSIUM ON BIOFUELS IN SHIPPING, organised by FVTR, will be held on April 21, 2026, at the PENTA HOTEL | HRO, Germany.
This event aims to gather experiences and knowledge from the shipping industry to find solutions to the challenges it faces in reducing emissions. Drop-in liquid biofuels and innovative additives offer a promising solution, but their use raises numerous technical, economic, and regulatory issues.
The symposium will be an opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with officials, fuel suppliers, engine and component manufacturers, and users. Throughout the day, the entire value chain will be covered, and practical experiences and the latest developments will be presented, with the aim of highlighting and identifying critical issues and solutions for the maritime sector.
